University of Montana offers classes in Blacksmithing

The Missoulian is running a story about different winter classes that are offered at the University of Montana. Low and behold at least one is a blacksmith sculpting class. I wish they would have offered these classes at the University that I attended! It likely would have had me paying a little more attention in class. There are a few pictures and a nice write up as to why the students enjoy the class. Brad Allen teaches the blacksmithing classes.

ABANA has announced the instructors that will run the teaching stations at the 2010 conference. It will be Mark Aspery, Darryl Nelson and Gerald Boggs. I've heard nothing but good things about these guys and I think they will do a fine job. This is definitely an event worth attending!

More info about the event can be found on ABANA's posting. Some video and instructor page links after the jump.

The Times-Gazette out of Shelbyville Tennessee has a great, detailed, write up about the Blacksmithing classes currently being offered at the Tennessee Technology Center. There has been a great community forming around them and it sounds like a lot of elbow grease went in to making it happen.
