Experienced Blacksmith makes a deadly mistake

I hate to post stories like this, but I think it can serve as a good reminder to folks out there. Experienced blacksmith Ian Morrison, 50, of Montrose, Angus, UK, died while cutting open a used oil drum to make a barbecue for a client. It was a 45 gallon drum, that had previously held paint thinners. He was using an angle grinder, and the fumes ignited, resulting in a fatal explosion. We should all know better, but I know we all cut corners once in a while. Take the time to play it safe folks.

Photo Essay of Greenwich Blacksmiths
